Epithalon
Epithalon: A synthetic tetrapeptide, also called Epitalon, studied in cellular aging models.
What is it?
A synthetic tetrapeptide, also called Epitalon, studied in cellular aging models.
How it is studied
Laboratory work examines telomerase activity and telomere-related effects in cultured cells. Animal studies address separate biological questions.
What the evidence says
Cell-culture findings are not measurements of human lifespan. Independent replication of a cellular effect still leaves the clinical question unanswered.
What remains uncertain
Evidence does not establish a human longevity benefit or long-term safety. Epithalon should also be distinguished from epithalamin, a different preparation in some older research.
