Kisspeptin-10

Kisspeptin-10: A short kisspeptin sequence studied in reproductive hormone signalling.

What is it?

A short kisspeptin sequence studied in reproductive hormone signalling.

How it is studied

Kisspeptin acts upstream of gonadotropin-releasing hormone. Research examines the resulting changes in luteinizing hormone and the timing of hormonal pulses.

What the evidence says

A small study in healthy men found that kisspeptin-10 stimulated luteinizing hormone secretion and altered pulse characteristics. This is a physiological finding, not proof of a fertility treatment.

What remains uncertain

Kisspeptin-10 and kisspeptin-54 are distinct forms. Results for one form, route, or population should not be assumed to apply to another.
